Ralph was born in 1880 and died 27 Mar 1952 and is buried at Salt Creek cemetery, Dallas, Polk, OR USA [1]Ralph was the second son of Oliver and Julia (Wells) Dodson. When his parents and brother moved from Salt Creek in 1898 to the lower Salmon River area,[2] later known as Rose Lodge, he was keeping the company of Anna Clanfield and working for her father whose family lived close by to the Oiiver and Julia Dodsons and was not interested in moving to the coast (Rose Lodge). He and Anna married very soon afterward and settled down to farming and raising a family[3]. He secured a farm close by in Polk County at Perrydale where they lived till the farm was passed to the next generation.
