Raymond was living with his paternal grandparents in the 1930 census. His grandparents, Raymond V & Adaline B Collins, had 2 sons, Leonard & George. In 1930 Leonard was living next door to his parents, he was married with 2 children. I don't believe that Raymond is Leonard's son, so he must be George's. The California Death Index has Raymond's mother's maiden name as Collins - but, Collins is his grandmother's maiden name! It is possible that his mother and grandmother were both Collins, but it is not likely.
