Birth
Rhoda Dotson/Dodson was born about Sep 1817 in Halifax County, Virginia per her marriage record and 1900 census.[1][2] She is presumed to be the daughter of George Dodson based on the ages of the females listed in his household in 1830. [3] In the 1840 census for Claiborne County, Tennessee she resided with her husband next door and close-by Thomas and George Dodson. Thomas Dodson was living next door to the household of Thomas Johnston b. 1801-1810 whose assumed wife is Rhoda Dodson b. 1811-1820, assumed to be the daughter of George Dodson. Seven households away is the household for George Dodson. [4]
Marriage
Rhody Dotson was age 43 (born abt 1815 Halifax County, Virginia) when she married 1858 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, Tom Johnson Sr, age 52 born Scott County, Virginia. They were married by C. Kirtley. The year was provided on the official record but "not given" was written for the month and day.[5] [6]

In the 1880 census for Jackson County, Kentucky: Noah Johnson age 21 b KY household included Rhoda Johnson age 67 b TN (his widowed mother). [7]
Death
Her husband died in 1880[8]and Rhoda was listed in the census for 1880 residing with her son Noah. She died after 1880 in Kentucky.
