Margaret M. Doherty was born in Johnsons Mill, Westmorland Co, New Brunswick, Canada on 6 September 1885. She was the daughter of James Doherty and Elizabeth Doo. [1]
Margaret immigrated with her family from Canada to Wisconsin in 1888.[2]
On the 1900 U.S. Census for Edson Wisconsin, Margaret is 14 yrs. old living with her parents in Edson, Chippewa, Wisconsin. It has her occupation as "housework."[2]
Margaret Doherty married George Everet Bostwick in Chippewa, Wisconsin on 15 July 1903. [3]
On the 1910 U.S. Census for District 0077, Stanley Ward 3, Chippewa, Wisconsin, Margaret was 24 yrs. old. Margaret & George Bostwick had 3 daughters: Irene H. 6 yrs. old, Evelyn G. 3 yrs. old, and Elizabeth M. 2 months old. George was a conductor for railroad.[4]
On the 1920 U.S. Census for Edson, Chippewa, Wisconsin, Margaret was 34 yrs. old. Her husband George is 38 yrs. old and still a conductor for a steam railroad. Their children noted were Irene 16 yrs. old, Evelyn 13 yrs. old, Elizabeth 9 yrs. old, and George 3 months old. [5]
On the 1930 U.S. Census for Chippewa Falls, Chippewa, Wisconsin, Margaret is 44 yrs. old & she is a sales lady in a dry goods store. Her husband George is 47 yrs. old and is a Signal Operator for the railroad. Their children living at home are Elizabeth 20 yrs. old and Eugene 10 yrs. old.[6]
Margaret died 2 July 1971 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. [7] She is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.[8]
She passed away in 1971.
