Biography

Samuel was born in 1884 in Randolph County, Alabama. He was the son of Charles Dollar and Elizabeth Gaston. He was married to Alma Baker in 1905 in Randolph County, Alabama.

War came to America in 1917 and Samuel registered for the draft. He was living with his family in Wedowee, Randolph County in 1920 and worked as a farmer. His sister, Emma and her husband James L, Perry lived next door to them in Wedowee Precinct, By 1930 Sam and his family had moved to Roanoke in Randolph County and Sam worked as a manager of a syrup company. He moved his family after 1930 to Langdale in Chambers County. In 1940 Sam was working as a Carpenter at a construction company. He passed away in 1974 in Langdale, Alabama. He was a retired construction worker.
