James Thomas Donahue was born on a boat January 11th 1850, with several census’s saying England and others saying “at sea eng”. He was born to John and Mary Donaghue.
He worked as a plasterer all his life. His family was living in Brooklyn in 1879, and he married in 1880 to Mary Agnes Ryan. In 1885 the family was living in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha Nebraska in 1887. In 1894 he was a driver for John Huba. In 1896 his job was labeled “bricklyr”. Then the family moved to Spokane, WA in 1903. After 1915 James and Mary moved to Seattle.
According to his son-in-law, who saw him in Seattle, James spoke several languages, was very well educated and read several European newspapers he was subscribed to.
James passed away March 30th 1921 in Seattle.
