Biography

Jane was born about 1828,[1] probably in Balloo, Islandmagee, County Antrim, Ireland, the son of Robert Donaldson and Martha Hawthorn.

In 1858 she married Thomas Hawthorn in 1st Islandmagee Presbyterian Church. He was a mariner from Ballymuldrogh, Islandmagee and she was from Balloo, Islandmagee. The witnesses were John Esler and Susan Kane.[2]

Jane passed away in 1914 in Ballymuldrogh, Islandmagee from senile decay, aged 86 years. She was the widow of a sailor and her death was registered by her daughter Mary Hawthorn of Ballymuldrogh.[3]
