Cautionary Note
NOT the same Samuel J. Donaldson (b.1842 - 1913) who married Cynthia Hinton in Montgomery Co, IL, as he appears in the 1880 Census for Hurricane, Fayette, IL with Cinthy. This Samuel Donaldson also has a mother named "Sarah" (parents John A Donaldson and Sarah Stone.) Worthy of mention here as it is seen on many ancestry trees and it is not the same person (unless he was married to two different women at the same time, still the age is a 10 year difference.)
