Research Note

The spelling of Donham was not consistent. It is generally accepted that Jonathan (Nathaniel's father) used both Donham and Dunham interchangeably, but the children when named used Donham.

Dunham-839 and Donham-229 do not represent the same person because: These are brothers. The elder Nathaniel died when a year old and as was the custom of the time another male child also called Nathaniel.
