Biography

Mary was born about 1670 [est: her father was 39 when he died in 1684, a brother was born in 1678].^[1] Her father was William Donne of Letheringsett, co Norfolk, gent, son of Thomas Donne of Holt, co Norfolk, gent, and Anne.^[1] Her mother was Mary Flint, the daughter of the Rev Roger Flynt of Ludham and Rector of Runton, both co. Norfolk, and Margaret Trendle.^[1] She passed away after 1691.

Mary had one sister and two brothers:^[1]

1. Thomas Donne of Letheringsett, gent., his will was dated 19 May 1704, and proved at Norwich, 30 October, 1710, by John Brereton, Archbishop of Norwich.

Roger Donne of Ludham, gent, born at Letheringsett, 17 April, 1678, died 9 November, 1722, buried at Ludham; heir to his grandfather, Roger Flynt, married Catherine Clench, died aged 58, 29 May 1733, buried at Great Berhamsted, co Herford. daughter of Bruin Clench of St Martin-in-the-Fields, Westminster, Citizen of London, and Catherine, the daughter of William Hippisley of Throughley, co Sussex

Mary, married John Brereton of Brinton, co Norfolk, gent.^[1]

Mary's father, aged 39, on 8 November, 1684, and she is mentioned in his will, which proved at Norwich 18 November, 1684 by the Archbishop of Norwich.^[1] Mary was also mentioned in the will of her grandmother, Margaret Flynt, in 1688.^[1]

Mary was living unmarried by 1 August, 1691.^[1] and died sometime after that.
