Biography

Patience Donnell was born about 1689.

She first married Miles Rhodes in 1708.[1]

Patience married a second time to Ichabod Jellicon. Children:

  1. Benjamin Jellison served in the military in 1744/5 in King George's War. A Corparal in Capt. John Stover's (3rd) company, Sir William Pepperell's (1st) Mass. regiment. He died before 1790. Moved to Union River, Ellsworth about 1770.
  2. Ichabod Jellison 10 March 1724 or 1723

The following is from a previous version of this profile. However, the date of 1833 conflicts with the date of birth and death of this (Patience) individual:

Hopkins, James Dean (1833). An address to the members of the Cumberland Bar: delivered during the sitting of the Court of Common Pleas, at Portland, June term, 1833. Portland [Me.], Printed by C. Day., p. 16 "A record states that 'Miles Rhodes and Patience his wife being presented for fornication - he appearing for himself, and in behalf of his wife, and owning the fact - it's considered by the court that they receive 7 stripes a ps (piece) on their naked backs at the post - and to pay fees of court 10s. a ps, or to pay a fine of 25s. a ps to her Majesty and fees aforesaid, and stand committed accordingly. By their humble petition 7s. 6d. a ps of their fine is remitted."
