Name Change Father George was born as George Donnell. Shipping records to Australia list the family name as Donnell, however once in Australia the name became Donald.

Sisters Eliza, Isabella and Esther were born in Australia.

The family settled at Sugarloaf Creek near Tallarook, Victoria, Australia ^[2]. Tallarook is 12km south of Seymour - where Martha's aunt Rebecca Callan nee Knox had settled 10 years previously.

Martha's mother passed away when Martha was 19 in 1875. She never married, and continued to live with her father throughout his life.

Her twin sister Jane died in 1891 when they were 35 and next sister Rebecca in 1905

DONALD.—-On the 28th September at her late residence, Hilldene Seymour Martha Ann the beloved eldest daughter of the late George and Esther Donald and loving sister of Jane (Mrs McClure, deceased), Rebecca (Mrs. Carron (deceased), Eliza (Mrs McLachlan), Bella (Mrs A. Kelly, deceased) and Esther (Mrs W Popple), aged 80 years. Peace-fully passed away.
