William John Donnelly was apparently the son of a previous William John Donnelly and Mary E Brown... (did her initial E actually stand for anything?) Another record appears to show his mother's name as "Mary Subject", if this is the same person. Records are poor and unclear.
William John Donnelly (the younger) appears to be shown in the 1911 Canada census in the Muskoka District, north of Toronto. He was living with his father, who was widowed, and a sister, Violet Donnelly.
William John Donnelly (the younger) is known from the record of his marriage to Dorothy Marguerite Clazie in 1925 at Toronto. It says he was 21, so born about 1903-04 at Toronto; a member of the Church of England; ocupation: "galvinizer"; his father was born in the USA, mother born in Ontario, but no more specific locations are shown:
1070-25 (Toronto) William John DONNELLY, 21, galvanizer, Toronto, 48 Gwynne Ave, s/o William John DONNELLY (b. USA) & Mary E. BROWN, married Dorothy Marguerite CLAZIE, 18, companion, Toronto, 102 Tyndall Ave, d/o William CLAZIE (b. Ontario) & Nellie TAYLOR, witn: Elsie CHURCH & Arthur J. HILL both of Toronto, 19 Jan 1925
A man named William John Donnelly was shown in a U.S. immigration record at Detroit, dated 15 Nov 1925. It says that William John Donnelly was born in Toronto; he was single, occupation barber; he was going to Chicago to visit his sister. (Because the record says he was single, and his occupation was so radically different from the marriage record cited above, it was likely a different person but we can't yet be sure.)
What became of the younger William John Donnelly after his 1925 marriage at Toronto? Unknown. No later record found.
