Biography

Lamberton was born in 1829. He was the son of Sheldon Doolittle and Leanry Winters. He passed away in 1909.

In 1850 he was at Almond, NY where he was a school teacher.

He enlisted as a private, 20 Sep 1861 at Warsaw, NY , 9th NY Calvary, Union Army. He mustered out 25 Oct 1863.

He was a farmer, a U.S. Revenue Collector in WV & KY (He was wounded in a still raid), & an IRS clerk. He went to WI & dealt land in several counties, 1855-1858. He was one of the founding fathers of Almond, WI. In 1859 he returned to NY. He came to Huntington, WV from NY in 1872 & for many years was engaged in the grocery business.
