Biography

Homer was born in 1840. He was the son of George Doolittle and Currance Stewart. He passed away in 1934.

Homer. Doolittle was the last surviving Civil War Veteran in Worth County, Iowa. He enlisted as a Private on 20 February 1865 in Company H, 49th Infantry Regiment Wisconsin He mustered Out Company H, 49th Infantry Regiment Wisconsin on 8 Nov 1865 at St Louis, MO.

He married Huldah Dains. They removed to Iowa. He ran a livery sales & feed stable at Northwood, Iowa. With his second wife Lena Westfall) they resided Otranto, Iowa, but in 1912 they returned to Northwood, IA. They were at Mason City, Iowa, 1924-32. At the end of his life, they lived in Glenville, Minnesota.
