Alfred Dore and Mary Dore were married after banns in Shipton under Wychwood, Oxfordshire on 16th January 1843.[1] They were bachelor and spinster, both of full age and living in Ramsden. Alfred was a crockery ware hawker and the son of William Dore who was a labourer. Mary was a gloveress and the daughter of Charles Dore who was a labourer. Neither could write so they both made their mark on the register with a cross and the witnesses to the marriage were Jason Scarrott and Beta Dore,[2]
1841 census aged about 25, with parents.
1851 census living with her father, widowed, and her son Alfred aged 1.
1861 census aged 46, widow, living in Ramsden with son and Sarah Dore (aged 4 - her 1st cousin twice removed).
1871 census aged 55, widow, living on her own in Ramsden.
