Walter was born in 1885. He was the son of Stephen Dorey and Sarah Nineham.
Walt had a bass voice which he used in the choir and at village concerts.
Walt joined the Army in 1914 and served in Malta and India.
After WW1, Walt worked as a gardener at Encombe and was Captain of the Bell Ringers.
Walt died in 1952.
