Jane was born on the 4 November 1852 in the City of Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland[1][2]. She is the daughter of James Dornan and Frances Paxton Prentice. Her marriage to John (Gilmore) takes place on the 1 January 1878 in the Settlement of Greenough, situated in a floodplain (the Greenough Flats), 24 kilometres south of the Town of Geraldton and 400 kilometres north of the capital City of Perth, Western Australia, Australia[3]. John and Jane had the following children:
Joseph (1872 in Victoria Plains, Western Australia)
Frances Agnes (1873 in Greenough, Western Australia)
The couple and their children settle in the Settlement of Greenough, situated in a floodplain (the Greenough Flats), 24 kilometres south of the Town of Geraldton and 400 kilometres north of the capital City of Perth, Western Australia, Australia. Not only do we find them residing there with their children's births but the Electoral Rolls from 1903 to 1917 having them living there[4].
Jane passes away on the 19 February 1919 at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. McCarley, on Greenough Road, in the Town of Geraldton, Midwest Region, Western Australia, Australia. She was 66 years old at the time and the cause of death will be on her Certificate. Her burial takes place on the 20 February 1919 at the Geraldton Cemetery (now known as Apex Pioneer Memorial Park), Urch Street Geraldton, Greater Geraldton City, Mid West Region, Western Australia, Australia. The location of her grave is in the Presbyterian Section[5][6].

LOCAL AND GENERAL. Death of Mrs Jane Gilmore. — The death occurred last, night at the residence of her daughter, Mrs W McCarley, Greenough Road, of Mrs Jane Gilmore. Deceased, who was 66 years of age, was a very old resident of the Greenough district, and her husband, who predeceased her some years ago, was for many years in the employ of the Maley family as a teamster. Mrs Gilmore, who was a very hard-working industrious woman, brought up a large family. She was held in the highest esteem, and a large number of friends will hear of her death with much regret. The funeral took place this afternoon at the Presbyterian Cemetery[7].

THE LATE MRS GILMORE. The interment of the late Mrs Jane Gilmore, one of the Greenough pioneers, took place in the Presbyterian Cemetery on Thursday, the Rev J. H. Langdon reading the service, and Mr G. Lester supervising the arrangements generally. The cortege left the residence of her daughter, Mrs W. McCarley, Greenough Road. The following sent wreaths and floral tributes: Sons and daughters; grandchildren, sisters and sons: —
