Biography

Helen was born in about 1901 in Brooklyn, New York. She is the daughter of Arthur Dorney and Annie McManus.

Helen's father passed away sometime between 1903 and 1910.

At the time of the 1910 Census Helen was living with her younger sister Eugenia at St Joseph's Female Orphan Asylum, 735 Willoughby Avenue, Brooklyn.[1]

There are a number of Helen Dorneys of about the same age and born in the area, so it has not been possible to trace her after 1910.

Her brother Arthur's 1918 death notice mentions her as a living sibling.
