Noel was born in 1931 in Warrnambool to Edward Charles Dorney and Ellen Breen.
At the age of five he was knocked down by a motor car and admitted to hospital with head injuries.
Noel attended a “gay cup night ball” at Winslow in November 1952. He was accompanied by his future wife and their photograph appeared in the newspaper.
Winslow is a rural locality situated 20 kilometres north of Warrnambool.
He married Eleanor (Nellie) Smith in 1953 in Warrnambool. They had four children together, Michael, Jennifer, Anne and Steven.
Noel and Nellie were recorded in the electoral roll from 1963 to 1967 at 37 Allison Avenue, Warrnambool.
Noel worked as a pastrycook.
Noel passed away in 1999 is buried in the Warrnambool Lawn Cemetery, Row 4, Grave number 25.[1]
