Biography
When Mary "Polly" Dorsey was born about 1780 in Somerset, Pennsylvania, her father, Cornelius, was 32, and her mother, Martha, was 26. She married Joseph Price in 1799 in Chester, South Carolina. They had nine children in 29 years. She died after 1850 when she last appeared in the census in Walker Co., Alabama.
Research Notes
Cooke-7654 18:39, 25 November 2022 (UTC) She is sometimes given a middle or even married name "Prue". This seems to be derived from the WPA transcription of her father's will. In the record copy of his will, she is clearly named "Polly Price."[1]
