DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Henry by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Henry:

I'm trying to get info on a John Dorsey who was married to Armonde Sondoz and the father of Adam J Dorsey. My best guess is that he's the son of Henri Jules Dorsey. A census shows a John W. Dorsey in 1860 at 1 years old and the 1870 census shows him again as "John Dorcey." I'm just not sure if it's the same guy although it most likely is. Here it shows a son of Henri Jules as John Douglas Dorsey.

Information found on rootsweb:

Dorsey, Jean Douglas (Henry & Virginnie Miguez) b. 10 May 1859 (NI Ch.: v.1, p 250) Landry, Armande m. 10 April 1884 John Dorsey (NI Ct Hse: March #2077) Sandoz, Amanda (Ami & Rosalie Viator) m. 17 April 1884 John Dorsey (NI Ch: v.3, p 203) Dorsey, Joseph Joel (John & Amanda Sandoz b. 31 May 1886 (NI Ch: v4, p 170) Dorsey, Marie (John & Amanda Sandoz) b. 8 Feb 1885 (NI Ch: v4, p 114) Dorsey, Antoine (John & Amanda Sandoz) b. 18 Jan 1888(NI Ch: v.5, p7) Dorsey, Andre Daguesseau (John & Amanda Sandoz) b. 17 Feb 1890 (NI Ch: v 5, p. 120) Dorsey, child d. 5 Feb 1891 at age 1 yr Dorsey, Marie (John & Ermanda Sandoz) b. 13 Feb 1897 (NI Ch; v. 6, p.259)

John or Jean Douglas Dorsey would have been 25 y.o. and Amanda Sandoz would have been 21 y.o. at the marriage in 1884 at New Iberia Church.

Who is Armande Landry m. 10 April 1884 to John Dorsey at the New Iberia Court House? Is this an error in recording? This is a civil ceremony recorded at the court house. There could have been a civil ceremony before a religious ceremony or they are different people.

Dorsey-1733 and Dorsey-1711 appear to represent the same person because: Same dates of birth and death, parents, spouse. Thanks

Thank You Lori. I located The Riggs Family Of Accomack Co, Va and Louisiana a compiled genealogy. You can find this document by google. Pg53 indicates Catherine m John Dorsey abt 1824. Children: Henry Jules, Ann, Mary, Ameline, and John. Mathurin and Gamime Kambel are listed as parents of husband John Dorsey. I cannot find any trace of parents. Mother could be misspell of Jemima Campbell. Mathurin Dorsey? Lots of names in S.LA have been given French alternates such as Henry/Henri, Francisco/Francois, Juan/Jean. Perhaps this is the case with Mathurin. Iam at a dead end. Would appreciate any help.

I did see a something with a Virginie Miguez.... so, your on the right track.
