William Edwin Dorsey was born on 25 Mar 1790 in Cecil, Maryland to parents Stephen Hammond Dorsey and Rachel Ewing Dorsey.
He married Catherine M Lightner on 22 Jan 1818 in Cecil, Maryland.[1]
Children: Nathaniel Lightner, Julia Ann, Mary Elizabeth, Edward Clarkson, Rachael Matilda,[2] Samuel Hutton, Amanda Rebecca,[3] William Henry,[4] James Harvey,[5] Caroline Amanda.
In 1820 he was living in Cecil, Maryland in a household of eight people.[6]
In 1840 he was living in Leacock Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania with his wife and family, a household of seven.[7]
His wife died on 3 Sep 1843 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.[8]
He died on 11 Mar 1847 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
