The birth of Edward Dorsey, son of John and Honor Dorsey in October 1728 is recorded in the parish records of Queen Caroline in Anne Arundel County. He moved to Baltimore as an adult where he owned large tracks of land.
Edward Dorsey was married to Betty Gilliss, the daughter of Ezekiel and Mary (Hill Gilliss on 29 JUL 1750. They were the parents of six children:

In the 1780s Dorsey bought & sold large tracts of land he owned in Baltimore County.
1786 - sold 488 acres for L976 including Progress, Additional Progress & Dorsey's Dilemna. He also sold on the same day to William Patterson for L1,216 Chaney's Neglect, Progress and Additional Progress
1796 - sold for L312 the Addition to Greenbury's Grove Enlarged. The deed identifies him as Edward Dorsey of John of Baltimore County.
Edward Dorsey was likely living in Baltimore County when he died intestate some time after 1796, but he is listed in the 1790 US Census in Anne Arundel County.[2]
