Biography

Charles Wesley Dorsey was born on 10 Nov 1827 in Lena, Miami, Ohio to parents Silas Dorsey and Mary Elizabeth Smith. He married Elizabeth Ann Lindsay on 5 Aug 1847 in Miami, Ohio. Children: Joseph H, Jane, George V, Lorena, Gilbert, Martha A, Charles Newton, Della. He died on 7 Dec 1910 in Arborville, Nebraska.

He served in the National Guard during the Civil War, 147th Regiment, Ohio Infantry, Company F as a private in 1865

Obituary: "Miami Union, Troy, Miami County, Ohio, December 29, 1910: "DORSEY, CHARLES WESLEY - Charles Wesley Dorsey, who was born in Lena, this county, Nov. 10, 1827, died in McCool, Nebraska, December 7. He is survived by seven children. Mr. Dorsey was a veteran of the civil war. After the war he removed to the West and finally settled in Nebraska in 1875."
