Ancestry.com: He served as a soldier in Dunmore's War, a 1774 expedition against the Indians on the frontier. He also served in the Revolutionary War in the 5th and 9th Virginia Regiments. He held the rank of corporal and received a pension. Sold his land in Virginia in 1804 and moved to Kentucky.
