Joseph Doucet was born about 1699 in Port Royal, Acadia. He was the son of Charles Doucet and Huguette-Radegonde Guerin. The years before and year of his brith, the family lived in Port Royal. They continued to be there througfh 1714. They were in Port Royal in 1698 [1], in 1700 when Joseph was age 1[2], 1701 (also Port Royal)[3], 1703[4] and in 1707[5] and in the last census of that time, 1714[6]

When he was 24, Joseph married Marie Magdelaine Robichau, age 20, daughter of François Robichau and Magdelaine Terriau 6 November 1725 at Port Royal. Witnesses were Claude Landry, Joseph Doucet, son of Claude Doucet, cousin of the groom, Denis Petitot, surgeon and Denis Petitot his son.[7][8]
