William John aka Willie was born on 25 August 1905. He was possibly born out of wedlock to Sarah Ann Richard, 5 years before she married Michel Doucet. His birth registration records his name as William Mazerolle, illegitimate, and also William Richard. [1] He appears in the 1921 census as Guillaume Doucet age 15, in the household of Alexandre Doucet and Sarah Anne Doucet. He was 6 years older than Victor, their first born.[2]
He was a shoemaker. He married, at age 33, Marie Olive (Eva) Vienneau, daughter of Olivier Vienneau and Marie Richard, in 1938. [3] The father listed on the marriage record is Alexander Doucet born in Margaree, Nova Scotia. His age when he married corresponds with a birth in 1905.
In 1940 he was on a voters list, living in Lower-Neguac with his wife. He was listed as William Doucet, shoemaker.[4]
According to several family trees, he passed away in Neguac in 1979. [6]
