Jean Baptiste Doucet was likely born about 1690 in Port Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, son of Charles Doucet (abt. 1665–1739) and Huguette Guerin (abt. 1667–aft. 1741). His parents were married there and his siblings before and after him were born there too.
In 1693, at Port Royal, Jean [sic], aged 3, was living with his parents, Charles DOUCET, aged 28, and Huguette GUERIN, aged 16 [sic], and 3 brothers: Claude, aged 7, Charles, aged 5, and Francois, aged 1. The family owned 1 gun and was living on 13 arpents of cultivable land with 6 cattle, 4 sheep, and 4 pigs.[1]
Jean (23) married Marie Robichaud (21) (born about 1692 in Port-Royal, Acadie; daughter of Prudent Robichaud and Henriette Petitpas) on 12 Feb 1714 in Annapolis Royal, Acadie, Colony of Nova Scotia.[2][3] Their known children were:
