Biography

Marie Anne was born in 1756. [1] She was the daughter of Joseph Doucet dit Laverdure and Marie Bourg. Anne was baptized at the age of 11 upon the family’s return from exile on 12 September 1767 in Trois-Rivières.[2] The priest indicated in the register that she was born in "Angleterre" but Stephen White in the Dictionnaire généalogique des familles acadiennes writes that her family was in Salisbury, Mass in 1758-1760 and in 1763.[3][4]

She married Alexis Reau, son of Joseph Reau and Josette LeBlanc, on 20 February 1775 in Trois-Rivières.[5]
