Communication Preferences:
I am interested in communicating with
cousins and anyone else with an interest in genealogy.
My family tree is at <https://www.myheritage.com/site-554776251/hatter-family-tree>.
Please just tell me everything you know about our family history and hopefully maybe share some pictures
I am pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.
I would suggest starting with New Member How-to pages which may save you a lot of time and frustration. Don't be afraid to ask questions in our G2G forum and get involved as much or as little as works for you. Be sure to check out the tabs at the very top right hand side of your profile, there is lots to discover!
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person.
Enjoy the site!

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.
Your current GUEST status does not allow you to add profiles. Below are the priviledges for 3 levels in WikiTree:
Guest:
A Guest level membership will be the same. The Guests can make comments, ask questions in the G2G, send and receive private messages, add a GEDCOM, and edit their own profile. They will see ads. They can add their DNA but are not prompted to.
How to upgrade to a Family Member level:
Click on "add your communication preferences" on their Navigation Home Page to upgrade (This is headlined "Upgrade Account" and says "Answering #1 and #2 will add your communication preferences to your profile and upgrade your Guest account to the Family Member level.")
On the WikiTree menu there will be a link to Upgrade Account
On your profile page there will be an Upgrade link
Family Member: A Family Member can create and improve profiles for living and recently-deceased family members. They can edit a profile if they are on the Trusted List. They can add comments to profiles, participate in the G2G, receive private messages, and search using a GEDCOM. They can not fully participate in projects or edit categories and will see ads. Up to 300 contributions they will increasingly see encouragements to sign the Honor Code. After 300 contributions they can't continue without signing the Honor Code. How to upgrade:
The member must "sign" the Honor Code. This is the foundation of WikiTree's community and will remain necessary for full membership. There will be two ways to do this. Using the WikiTree menu they can select "Upgrade Account." Or, on their profile page it says "Family Member" beneath their name, with an upgrade link.
Wiki Genealogists: This is the full membership level. They have to have registered as a Guest, upgraded to the Family Member level, and then signed the Honor Code. Just like now - the member can fully participate. For more information on the abilities see the Membership Help page.
