Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with anyone who shares the same ancestors. Here is my family tree.
I'm particularly interested in finding my ancestors currently hidden behind several brickwalls. Towards that end, I've convinced several cousins to have their DNA tested with some surprising results. I'd recommend to everyone using DNA results in their research to have first and second cousins also tested. If you have siblings (which I do not) then of course, you need to include them in your testing. I've created a database of the ancestors of some of my matches and so have broken through one of my major brickwalls. This database is currently slightly over 56,000 entries.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Marie or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line: It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Marie:

Marie, I wondered if you have joined the French Heritage group on FTDNA? I so love seeing the matching H1c15 kits here on WikiTree, as I'd have to bug my uninterested second cousins for a test :-)

Hello,

I am checking in on behalf of the 1776 Project to announce the new project membership requirements and to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. All project members are being asked to join one of the project teams and also to make at least one project contribution every 6 months. We are also asking all project members to join the project's Google Group for project communications.

If you are interested in remaining with the Project, please reply to this comment or send me a message, request to join the Google Group, and let us know what team you would like to participate on.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

If we don't hear back from you we will assume that you no longer wish to participate in the project and if so, you could rejoin at any time as is convenient for you.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi - Sorry for being slow in replying - that's what happens when you get old. You had better remove me from the Project list as I can't seem to accomplish much in the line of research anymore. I still enjoy reading what others have found and recorded but lack the "zest" to do my own research.

Take care - and have fun. Marie

Thanks for letting us know Marie. We wish you the best and the door is always open for you!

best regards,

SJ

Hi Marie, I sent you a Trusted List request for: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Denoyon-6 way back on August 4th. Awaiting your response, please.

Marie, I want to thank you for all the research you've done and shared about the Harman line. I wouldn't have learned as much about this line of my ancestry without you. You've made your mark in genealogy and history. Thank you again!

Hi Marie, I sent you a Trusted List request for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bonneau-146, exactly 11 days ago. Awaiting your response, please. I also checked and we are 7th cousins through our sixth great grandmother Charlotte Patenaude (1715-1794).

THANK YOU!!! I just saw the biography you added to https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Harrison-1958 - what a fantastic addition for this family. Thank you so much for citing Alcock's book (I wasn't aware of it) and for mentioning the discovered book of Stafford County court records. I'll have to see if it's the same book I'm thinking of that was digitized and put online by the Library of Virginia!

Thanks again! Liz

Marie, I noted a few years ago that my maternal grandfather shares your mtDNA line, as you are my late mother's eighth cousin. Now I see my second cousin from this line was assigned haplogroup H1c at 23andMe. That's such a great confirmation!

Hello Marie it seems we are related. My grandmother comes from Sogndal and is originally a Hansen (Her father was Danish) but her mother (My great Grandmother) is a Svedal. Perhaps we could talk and trace back our ancestors as this is really interesting. Hope we can help each other trace back our lines.

Hi Cameron, mom asked me to reply to you as I am the one who is actually related to you 😀 Will pm you.
Well it seems I always have questions, but I see Henry died in 1839 and have found information suggesting he died in 1851. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Simple answer, Cathy - two different men named "Henry Harman" -

Harman-1268 = Henry L. Harman [1788-1839]

Harman-1270 = Henry (John Henry) Harman [1795-1852]

Original Henry had more than two grandsons named after him, and Esther had namesakes among the grandchildren, too. A very common practice up until a hundred years ago. Heavens! Sixty years ago when I was having children I used family names, not as first names but as middle names. Felt like I was keeping the memory of that person alive by naming a baby after them. But that was my reasoning, don't know what was behind the earlier custom.

Are their documents that prove Mary Woodrow Harman is the daughter of John Woodrow and Anna Gill?

Guillaume Belisle - Andre Belisle (abt. 1825 - aft. 1850) :

I have found and create a profile for André Germain dit Bélisle, born 12 Dec 1821

I don't know if they can be the same person

Marie, you are my mother's eighth cousin, and - even better! - you are in my maternal grandfather's direct maternal line. I am so pleased to know he probably shares your mtDNA haplogroup. Thank you so much for testing and adding your info to WikiTree!
