Probate
The will of James Doty of Plymouth, was dated 22 September 1785 and proved on 7 August 1786 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Bathsheba, James Doten 3d, son to Stephen Doten (who has three sons, but not all named), and his brother Stephen Doten (executor).[1]
His inventory was taken in March 1787 in Plymouth. An account of his estate by Stephen Doten was recorded which included debts received, debts paid, legacy to the widow, and administration fees. [2]
