Louisa was born about 1810 in Georgia. Her parents were Samuel Douglas and Oronda Dorothea Davis.
She was named as an heir and minor orphan of Samuel Douglas in Morgan County, Georgia in 1825. William S. Douglas was Executor of the estate of Samuel Douglas deceased and named guardian for Louisa.
She was married to William P. Cotton in Monroe County, Georgia in 1828.
