In the General Register of Sasines (RS3) there is a sasine registered on 29th July 1628 for Marie Douglas, spouse of Robert Lauder, son of George Lauder of West Barns.[1]
Marie Douglas's Testament Dative was lodged by "Robert Lawder, portioner [landowner] of Belheavine, her spouse," on 2nd July 1657, in which it is merely stated that Marie Douglas or Lauder died that year. Her moveable estate came to £566. Her children, Robert, James, Helen and Margaret are named in the Testament as her lawful children and executors and heirs of her estate. It is also mentioned that Marie had no debts and none owing to her.[2]
