Biography

Marie Douglas Davis, attended country school through the 8th grade, walking several miles to and from school. She attended High School in Upton Wyoming, and graduated in the class of 1941.

At the time they were married, Frank Davis was driving a dump truck for hire. He was hauling bentonite for the bentonite plant in Upton Wyo. In Dec.1942 they moved to Salinas Calif. where he drove truck and worked in a tire repair shop for Macormic Mitzor Company.

He continued in the trucking business for the next several years in Salina Kansas, Hutchinson Kansas, Neosho Missouri, Laramie Wyoming, and Osage Wyoming. After spending 2 years in Osage Wyo. Frank got out of the trucking business.

Frank and family moved out to the Douglas ranch, and lived in a mobile home, while Frank worked for Gene Sweet on the neighboring Sweet Ranch, doing the kind of work he loved to do. About 1950 or 51 he went to work on the Hagerman Ranch, on Mason creek, about 2 years later he became foreman of the Bob Pearson Ranch on Inyan Kara creek about mid way between Upton and Sundance Wyoming. Frank worked for Bob Pearson properties until he retired in 1989.

In 1959 he was manager of Bob Pearson's Chicken ranch in south Phoenix Ariz. for 10 years. Then, he managed a start up Christmas tree growing operation for Bob Pearson in Torrington Wyo. During the 13 years in Torrington, Marie worked at the Ben Franklin store. Marie recalls, she enjoyed that job very much. Frank took on another start up Christmas tree venture for Bob Pearson in Lindale Texas in 1982 and after making that successful, he retired and they moved to Phoenix in 1989.

In 1997, they moved to an acre of land that they bought, in Gray Court So. Carolina. Their son Frank L. Davis and daughter Pat Heatley live near by.[1]
