Biography

Grace was born on 29 April 1905 in Tucson AZ at Fort Lowell, named in honor of Charles Russell Lowell. Grace Douglas was the daughter of Irvin Douglas and Maud Jacobs Douglas. She had a sister Olive Douglas and two brothers Irvin Jr. and Volney. In 1919, the family lived at the Searchlight mining camp in Clark County Nevada. She was present when her mother Maud was murdered by the Indian "renegade" Queho in 1919.

In 1920, she lived in Yuma, AZ with her uncle Ralph Jacobs, her aunt Inez Jacobs Ingraham, and Inez's husband Fred Ingraham.
