In 1900, he lived with his mother and siblings in Sabina village, Clinton, Ohio.^[2]

He passed away on May 26, 1962 in San Mateo, California.^[3]

Research notes

He was married to Agnes Douglas born in Indiana according to the 1940 census. In the 1930 census the birth locations are switched: He was born in Indiana with parents born in Ohio, and she was born in Sweden with Swedish parents.

His wife's obituary cornfirms she was Swedish, so James E Douglas is most likely born in Indiana to parents from Ohio. Douglas is not a common Swedish name, so it makes sense.
