Elizabeth's parents were wed on 8 May 1552 and although she might not have been the first born, one would assume so to safely say that her birth was after Jan 1553. Her first marriage was in 1572, so one can infer a birth prior to 1560. As the two extremes are less likely a median date of 1556 is probably correct or close to it.
