Rachel Douglas-Home was a daughter of Charles Cospatrick Archibald Douglas-Home and Lillian (Lambton) Douglas-Home.^[1]She was born on the 10th of April 1910 in Berwickshire, Scotland (United Kingdom).^[1]

She married Lord William Walter Montagu Douglas Scott, son of John Charles Montagu Douglas Scott, 7th Duke of Buccleuch, and Margaret Alice (Bridgeman), Duchess of Buccleuch, on the 27th of April 1937^[1]at Westminster St. Margaret, London, England.^[2]

She died on the 4th of April 1996 at the age of 85.^[1]
