Biography

Eliza (Douglass) Thompson is a member of Clan Douglas.

Elizabeth, daughter of John Douglass and Sarah Bonner, was born on 26 Apr 1673 at William & Mary Parish, Charles County, MD.[1][2][3] She died before 1 Jan 1749/50 at Charles County, MD, when her will was proved.[2][4]

Circa 1710, at Charles County, MD, Elizabeth m1. Charles BRANDT (b. c1669; d. 1 Mar 1713/4; s/o Capt Randolph Brandt and Mary Ford); children (surname BRANDT):[2]

  4. Sarah - b. c 1714

She married second circa 1714, Thomas HOWARD, son of Edmund HOWARD and Margaret DENT; children (surname HOWARD):[2]

On 12 Feb 1713/14, Elizabeth was called wife Elizabeth in the will of her husband Charles Brandt. The will also mentioned his children Charles, Jacob, Elizabeth, and Sarah and wife Elizabeth's brothers Benjamin Douglas and Joseph Douglas. The executrix of his inventory taken 31 Jan 1714 was "Elisabeth Howard (relict), now wife ot Thomas Howard."[2][5]

On 17 Oct 1728, Elizabeth m3. Thomas THOMPSON (d. 1 Jan 1749/50); no children.[2]

Elizabeth's will dated 8 Dec 1749 at Charles County, MD, mentioned her son Jacob Brent, daughter Elish Brent, daughter Margaret Thompson, granddaughter Sary Thompson, and son Thomas Howard (executor).[2][4]
