LOWER BARRINGTON
Obituary.
With feelings of regret we record the death of another old and highly esteemed resident of this district, in the person of Mrs. James Bricknell. The deceased lady has been in indifferent health for some considerable time, but the end came with a tragic suddenness that caused quite a shock to her most intimate friends. Deceased attended Sunday afternoon service and joined in the singing of all the hymns. After service Mrs. Bricknell was driven home by a friend, and on arrival at her own home the deceased lady suddenly collapsed. Medical aid was soon in attendance but she became unconscious and passed away at 9 o'clock the same evening. Mrs. Bricknell, previous to her marriage, was Miss Douglas, and a native of the Cressy district, arriving with her husband in Barrington about 24 years ago. Known for her many kindly acts, and genial hospitality, Mrs Bricknell left this world without an enemy. At all times an ardent supporter of the Baptist Church, she was a member of the church choir, and while health permitted, a devoted attendant at all services. A husband and grown-up family of five sons and four daughters are left to mourn their loss. One daughter pre-deceased her mother about five years ago. Two of the sons, William and George, served in the war. The burial took place a Sheffield and was largely attended. The chief mourners were husband, sons, and sons-in-law. The Rev, V. G. Britton conducted service at the house, and also at the graveside. Included in the beautiful wreaths, was one from the members of the Baptist Church. Much sympathy is felt for Mr. Bricknell and family in the loss of a devoted wife and mother.
