Angus Douglass passed away early Thursday morning, April 28, 2011, at the Parthenon Nursing facility. He was born Jan. 5, 1928, to the late Colin and Alberta Douglass. Angus was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs for many years. He worked as an accountant/controller in various hospitals in Florida. He is survived by Mary, the mother of his two daughters, Doris and husband, John Fox of Kent, Wash., and Martha and husband, Charlie Johansen of Longmont, Colo.; three sisters, Mary Virginia and husband, Ted Locke, Mary Laird, and Florasteen and husband, Lyndell Davis, all of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; one brother, Dewayne Douglass and wife, Shirley, of DeFuniak Springs; and five grandchildren, John Peter, Christopher and Michelle Fox, and Wesley and Nicole Johansen. A celebration of Angus' life will be held on Saturday, May 14, at the First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs beginning at 2 p.m. with the Revs. Durl Odom and Michael Moore officiating. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Thornwell Orphan Home.
