Biography

Ellen was born circa 1839 in Charleston, South Carolina.^[1] She was the daughter of John Forrest Douglass and Martha Susan Williams.

She married Archibald Armstrong on 14 January 1858 at the First Presbyterian Church in Charleston in a ceremony performed by the Rev. John Forrest.^[2]

Ellen died shortly before 14 December 1858 in Charleston, when her funeral was held at St. Philip's Church.^[3]
