Biography

Edith Margareta Jean Douglass born on 27 Oct 1913, in Grey County, Ontario, Canada. She is the daughter of Wesley Douglass and Louisa Lyons. ^[1]

In 1921, the family of Wesley and Louisa was complete - along with Margueurite, there were three boys, Frederick, Loren and Norman. ^[2]

She would go by Reta throughout her adult life.

At 3pm on Monday, 21 June 1948, John Wesley Hutchinson, son of Clifford Wesley Hutchinson and Teressa Jane Lee, married Reta Jean Douglas, only daughter of Loren Douglas and Beatrice Legge, in the First United Church parsonage, Owen Sound. The wedding was held on the 43rd anniversary of the bride's parents.^[3]

John and Reta had three children: Douglas, Allen, and Donna Marie who married Frank Percy Alexander Stauble on 20 May 1972.^[4]

Tragically, John was killed in a farming accident, when a tractor rolled back on top of him, in 1980.^[5]

Reta lived for almost twenty more years, and passed away in 1997.^[6]
