Effie Doutz Niess was the daughter of Robert Douts and Sarah Dommel. She worked at a caramel factory here in Lancaster,Pennsylvania between 1903-1904. Later she worked as a tobacco stripper between 1907-1908. She died around August 6,1913 at the young age of 28. My father and I have done extensive research on the "Doubt" family. The original spelling was Doubt. Later it changed to Doubts,Dout,Douts, and I have found a few with the Doutz spelling. Our first family book was published in 2000. "The Douts Family History of Mt Nebo 1700-2000" Dad and I are gathering material for another book at this time. The Doubt family originated in Cornwall,England with the voyage of my G,g,g,g,grandfather as a convict to America in 1765. He stole a canvas bag and six gallons of wheat valued at four shillings. If I can be of may help let me know. Regards, Cynthia (Douts) Roth, Lancaster, pennsylvania
