"Col. David Dudley [Dowd] moved early to Seville, Ohio (his present address), while still a wilderness, and has always occupied a prominent position both in society and community. He has the military rank of Colonel. He is an elder in the Presbyterian church. He is still hale and hearty, although 78 years of age, and takes great pleasure in his children, and is justly proud of his three youngest, children of his old age. The oldest is but six, and the youngest scarcely two." [1]
