Edward John Dowding was born 11 September 1922 at Eastbourne, Sussex, England. He was the son of Horace Dowding and Alice Crane. [1]
Edward John Dowding married Emily Joan "Pansy" Smith in 1946 at Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. [2]
He served as a navigator for the Royal Air Force during World War II. He trained to become a teacher at Eastbourne Training College and had a teaching job in Bexhill before emigrating to New South Wales, Australia, on the 30th January 1950 [3], where he became the headmaster of Baker's College. [4]
Edward John Dowding passed away 31 October 1991 at New South Wales, Australia, aged 69 [5] [6] [7], after suffering 20 years worth of heart problems that also affected his liver.
