Robert Dowdle Jr was born on 12 Nov 1778 in South Carolina.

He was first married to Eleanor Pickens about 1801. Children:

Robert married Jane Bennett in 1815. Among their children were:

  1. Martha Elizabeth (Dowdle) Woods
  2. Elisha Bennett Dowdle.
  3. Eliza Ann (Dowdle) Smith
  4. Hazeltine
  5. James
  6. Samuel
  7. Andrew
  8. William

He died at the age of about 89 in about 1869.[1] He is buried in Andrews Chapel Cemetery in Pickens County, Alabama, near the border of Columbus, Mississippi.
