Biography
Elizabeth (Downes) Franklin was born in Barbados.
Elizabeth Downes was born in Barbados, daughter of John Downes and Elizabeth Parsons his wife and baptised on 08 September 1728. [1]
She married 4 Sept 1762 in London to William Franklin, the illegitimate son of Benjamin Franklin, famous American printer and statesman. Elizabeth died in 1777. [2][3]
Research note
Elizabeth is not the mother of William Temple Franklin born in 1760 an illegitimate son of William Franklin.[4]
